CHALLENGE
Drive widespread consumer awareness around the Ontario Government’s partnership with Carrot Rewards to launch the Carrot Rewards wellness app.
SOLUTION
Broad Reach developed a high-impact media relations plan to support and amplify the excitement of the app’s Ontario launch event in conjunction with the Government of Ontario at the MaRS Discovery District in Toronto. The team’s approach included strategic message and pitch development, trade-specific outreach, and aggressive media outreach pre-and post-event. The event itself featured Carrot CEO, Andreas Souvaliotis, as well as a number of government officials including Eleanor McMahon (Ontario Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport), Han Dong (MPP of Trinity-Spadina), Jane Rooney (Financial Literacy Leader of the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada) and personal finance expert Bruce Sellery.
IMPACT
A highly successful media relations campaign executed in a very tight timeline, Broad Reach secured widespread media attention for the Carrot Rewards’ app launch in Ontario. The event drove over a thousand app users to attend with an astounding 24,000 downloads in the week following the event, double Carrot’s weekly average download rate. Campaign results included 26 media stories in top tier broadcast, print and trade media, garnering more than 36-million impressions.
